The Internet is awash with pictures of the abalone in various stages of its' life. Some are of people eating abalone, others of people pulling them out of the water or holding them up with big smiles after a hunt. The most popular, however, are probably the ones that are taken of the abalone in its' natural habitat on the ocean floor or stuck to a craggy rock submerged beneath the surface of the sea.
